Mother May I? I Give You Permission

Do you remember the old game of “Mother May I”? It was a race to the finish, but with one twist. “Mother” had to give you permission to go forward and the racer had to remember to ask permission.

Empty Nest moms so are often are overwhelmed with the new phase of life. I know I was. I did the only thing I knew to do and that was to go back to work full time in order to pay the college tuition bills. Busy, busy, busy. But, sometimes, Mom, you need to be still.

In the video below, I give you “permission” to be still.

I don’t know the game. Guess we didn’t play that one in Australia in the 1940s. But I know what you mean. When your children leave the nest, you search around for your own worth. Time to learn to be yourself again, rather than a mother.

With two small kids in the house, I don’t know what the Empty nest feels like. I can imagine, though. lol.
