If you’re happy and you know it tell your face
If you’re happy and you know it…..tell your face.
Not quite what you were expecting?
Did you start to sing the little song that you teach kids in Sunday School?
Have you ever had a conversation that went like this?
Someone: “What’s wrong?”
You: “Nothing’s wrong! Why do you ask?”
Someone: “Because you look ______
You: “Oh, no, I’m just _______
Too many beautiful Women (and Men) of Christ have a permanent “GRUMP FACE” on their countenance.
Numbers 6:25-26 says “The LORD make His face shine on you, And be gracious to you; The LORD lift up His countenance on you, And give you peace.”
The Joy of the Lord
How many times do we as Christians have that “LOOK” on our face that is NOT reflecting the joy of the Lord. OK, I’m NOT asking you to live in a fantasy world. I know if you’re sitting in a hospital with a loved one’s life hanging in the balance, you aren’t going to sit in the corner with a smile on your face like the dog that just swiped the chicken off the table…
However, we really need to think about what our countenance reflects how we REALLY feel about the Lord and his power, might, and abilities in our every day life……
When we were babysitting our grandson recently, I was often reminded about how MY countenance was reflected on him – and he responded accordingly. If I had to scold him (ONLY one time during the 5 day visit) his little face got sad. But if I praised him (MULTIPLE TIMES) during his visit, his little face just GLOWED!
Shouldn’t it be the same way with US as the Children of God? His face shines on us and HIS countenance is ON us. HE is giving us peace! Why don’t our faces show it?
If you are going to go around talking the talk to others about how they need to trust Jesus, they need to be happy in Jesus, they need to ____ in Jesus….then you better be walking the walk
Play the Glad Game
Try an experiment today and play the glad game. Every so often, just smile. EVEN if you don’t WANT to smile. Turn those corners of your mouth up into a smile. When you are sitting in a traffic jam – smile. When the washer overflows – smile. When the co-worker drones on and on in the meeting that you want to be OVER – smile. When someone steals your parking space – smile. When your best pair of sandals break – smile.
Just smile and let the HIS countenance that is THERE in the depths of your soul SHINE in and on you today!

Iโve long called my grandmotherโs way playing the glad game. Thanks for this message it is a great reminder of the power of encouragement. I love the Numbers tie in!
