Celebrate Life

A new born babyToday, I celebrate life.

I love life and the gift of life.

Life has a special meaning to me – as a mom, an empty nest mom, and a human.

Let me tell you a story…

Years and years ago, there was a young woman that found herself in ‘the way.’ She was with child and not married. Even worse, she was the daughter of a Methodist minister. Had that happened to her Texas today, we all know what “choices” she may have been given.

But, it happened back “then”. The only thing to do was to send her away for a few months to “visit relatives.” So, she was actually sent to Edna Gladny who took her in, and found a home for her little baby boy when he was born.

That boy grew up into a hard working man who had his own family.

One of his boys grew up to be a hard working man who served our country during the Vietman War.

He grew up, had his own family and was the father to a little girl.

She grew up, married and had a son.

He grew up and had a little boy.

And now I have a little grandson to love, hold and adore.

So you see, I am one of those that would not BE had she had a “choice.” An entire legacy of life and love would not have happened, had there been a “choice.”

I am glad that finally a state is resisting the urges to follow the “norm” and get back to protecting the rights to life.

Yes, this is a controversial subject.
Yes, everyone has an opinion.

They say that anything you write on the internet is here forever.

That’s why today, I did choose to write something that I do hope is a legacy to my name.

Yes, I am pro-Mom.
Yes, I am pro-Life.
Yes, I am a proud Texan.
