Freedom in Christ – God Wants You Free
Freedom. I tend to think about it most around Memorial Day and July 4th.
But, there’s a freedom that’s more important than our physical liberties. It’s our freedom in and with Christ.
Here are some of my notes about the topic:
God is for you.
Who can be against you?
You. You can be against you.
The old saying goes, “You are your worst enemy.”
It’s true. At least, for me it is.
Sometimes my biggest downfall is myself.
It’s safer to stay in the known, rather than step out into the unknown.
It’s easier to keep traveling the rutted path instead of forging a new trail.
It’s safer in the safe-zone with something that enslaves. That’s easier than embracing something new, good, pure, and true because the good is unknown. It’s around the corner and we can’t see it yet.
SO we will go back to the familiar.
-
- Mindset addictions
-
- Toxic emotional states.
-
-
- Toxic relationships.
- Toxic jobs
-
Because normal is safe.
So, we will choose normal over new. But, God wants to set us free..
God wants us to be free
God wants YOU FREE.
God is FOR YOU.
He always has your good in mind for you.
When I think about that I’m floored. Even I don’t always have GOOD in mind for me.
It’s true. And I bet it’s true for you sometimes.
When you are stuck in the rut of letting someone else’s opinion of you make you have a terrible day – that’s bad thinking.
When the want for ‘things’ burdens you because you want to keep up with your neighbors – that’s bad thinking.
When your internal conversations turns to beating yourself up because you made a mistake ring through your head – that’s bad thinking.
God wants you free from that.
God wants you free from everything that would weigh you down.
So, in this post, I’m not going to point you to any book deals I think you would be interested in.
I’m not going to tell you about my writing world.
