Or, “The energy leak of judging others”

If you remember a while back, I was reading about energy leaks (things that take away our focus). I have been pondering this more (by the way, Texans ponder, but does anyone else even use that word anymore?). This was again a topic discussed in Laurie Beth’s book “Jesus, CEO”.

I remember a few years ago I was guilty of this. My car was needing a new battery, so while hubby was doing some other maintenance on it, I ran to the automotive parts store to get a battery. No big deal, except it was heavy and I was wondering how I would get the new one to the car. Surely the clerk would carry it out for me, right?

I soon discovered that would not be the case. Everyone in the neighborhood was doing car maintenance and I could see the clerk was not going to be able to leave the counter. There were men standing in line. Surely one of them would help. I nice clean cut gentleman. A young man. A man about my age. And a biker dude. I instantly thought “I better stay away from biker dude, he looks scary”. You see, biker-dude looked worse than one of the bikers from Hell’s Angels. He had spiked hair, tattoos all over his body, piercings everywhere – and smelled like he hadn’t taken a bath in over a week.

Well, I’m sure you can already see where this is leading. When it came time for the battery to be taken out to the car – while all other men in line averted their eyes to keep from making contact with the “damsel in distress”. It was biker dude that stepped forward, before the clerk even asked for someone to help. He was the gentlemen in disguise.

I learned then, and was reminded by Laurie Beth – that judging others is an energy leak.

Pre-judging whether someone would do something, such as interest in your Network Marketing business – halts your progress. Judgement dampens forward motion.

I actually stumbled upon some words, and coined a phrase mentally:

Promote your business with “ears wide open and eyes wide closed” (and if I subliminally saw that phrase somewhere in reading and have forgotten, please forgive me).

Don’t look at the name on the door (Dr., Dentist, Accountant) or the clothing they wear (Rolex, Gucci) and prejudge that the person is “too wealthy to think about a home business”.

You may be surprised to find out that the Dentist is tired of missing his son’s T-ball games and is open to learning about an alternate income.

Remember this:

“If we wait for our fears to disappear before we start, we will never even begin” ~Susan Jeffers ~

Go forth into your business building -

Just be the messenger. Close your eyes and practice the “listening” skill.

I received this as one of those forwards of a forwards of a forward Emails. And usually, I delete those emails without even reading them.
BUT, since it’s the beginning of 2010, this one caught my eye. And it’s too good not to share! I hope you enjoy!

HANDBOOK 2010

Health:
1. Drink plenty of water.
2. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar.
3. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants..
4. Live with the 3 E’s — Energy, Enthusiasm and Empathy
5. Make time to pray.
6. Play more games
7. Read more books than you did in 2009 .
8. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day
9. Sleep for 7 hours.
10. Take a 10-30 minutes walk daily. And while you walk, smile.

Personality:
11. Don’t compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
12. Don’t have negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.
13. Don’t over do. Keep your limits.
14. Don’t take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
15. Don’t waste your precious energy on gossip.
16. Dream more while you are awake
17. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need..
18. Forget issues of the past. Don’t remind your partner with His/her mistakes of the past. That will ruin your present happiness.
19. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. Don’t hate others.
20. Make peace with your past so it won’t spoil the present.
21. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
22. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.
23. Smile and laugh more.
24. You don’t have to win every argument. Agree to disagree…

Society:
25. Call your family often.
26. Each day give something good to others.
27. Forgive everyone for everything..
28. Spend time w/ people over the age of 70 & under the age of 6.
29. Try to make at least three people smile each day.
30. What other people think of you is none of your business.
31. Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch.

Life:
32. Do the right thing!
33. Get rid of anything that isn’t useful, beautiful or joyful.
34. GOD heals everything.
35. However good or bad a situation is, it will change..
36. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
37. The best is yet to come..
38. When you awake alive in the morning, thank GOD for it.
39. Your Inner most is always happy. So, be happy.

Last but not the least:
40. Please Forward this to everyone you care about, I just did.

Prov 21:5 Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty.
