No-Time-Syndrome for Spare Time

I read this following chart a while back in a book called
“The Fifth Principle” by Micheal Clouse.

He wrote it to help people in training others and to point out
when folks say they don’t have time to build a business -

Thousands of Network Marketing distributors are
building successful part-time business in their
“spare time.”

But Spare Time can be used for other things as a well!

Maybe you are someone that has said,
“I can’t start a hobby, I don’t have time”….
or…
“I can’t exercise and get fit, I don’t have time”
or…
“I can’t give back to the community or do any sort of
volunteer work, I don’t have time”

There are 168 hours in every single week. Where
does the time go? Let’s take a good long look:

Activity / Time Spent / Time Remaining in the week

Sleep
8 hours a day / 56 hours a week / 112 hours remaining.

Full time job
8 hours a day / 40 hours a week / 72 hours remaining.

Commuting
2 hours a day / 10 hours a week / 62 hours remaining.

Eating
2 hours a day / 14 hours a week / 48 hours remaining.

Family & Entertainment
2 hours a day / 14 hours a week / 34 hours remaining.

Miscellaneous
2 hours a day / 14 hours a week / 20 hours remaining!

So the next time you think to yourself “I’d like to, but
I just don’t have the time,” look at the chart.

Ready to Evolve in 2010

I was reading through old blog posts and found this one about

New Year Resolutions.  Frankly, it’s sort of fulfilling to read

a “resolution” and be able to say to yourself – I DID IT!

And the good thing is, there is still time in the year to

“evolve” more!

Enjoy!

~~~~~~~~~
I read an email today about “resolutions”. It pretty much
mirrored my own belief now that resolutions just don’t produce
results. They are so mechanical. A list. At one point earlier in the
month I even decided to not make “resolutions” but to call them
“promises” to myself.
However, that was before I read a short email about not so
much as a “resolution” as an Evolution!
You see, as we get closer to the year 2010 (3 days), most of us
think about about new year ‘resolutions’…
But, let’s not think about a ‘resolution’ as much as
it is about ‘evolution’!
A resolution is a mechanical commitment you’ve
got to keep, whereas evolution is an emotional
commitment that keeps you!
For example, I am not interested in a resolution
to lose X pounds in 2010 (yikes), as much as I
am interested in evolving into a person of greater
respect for my body…
I am not interested in reading X number of self
development books in 2010 so much as
evolving into a person who is more confident,
better equipped to help others see their value,
and friendlier.
So, let’s rethink our “resolutions” and “promises”
to ourselves.
What’s on your 2010 EVOLUTION list?
15 Categores of Social Media
I’m not perfect. And I don’t know it all.  Ok, GOOD, now you know I’m HUMAN like you!
I’m not perfect (YET) on using Internet Marketing  to help me generate possible leads for my friendships (which MAY lead to some business building).
I KNOW there are sorts of avenues for Social Media.  I’ve read various articles, downloaded eBooks, read blogs, watched videos -
I’m a recent student of Magnetic Sponsoring by Mike Dillard. (Ya, I know..I’m a day late and a dollar short <smile>)
I was recently reading an article by Mirna Bard, 15 Categories of Social Media
And she has what I think you would call a “spider” showing ALL the Social Media avenues.
wow.  No, wait…WOW.
NOW, I DO know that I have only started to scratch the surface – I’m only at the tip of the iceberg!   AND THAT is assuring.  Because that lets me know I have much more success on the way!
Check it out – What do you think?
Build Your Business with Consistency
As many of YOU as well, I work a 9-5 job (which is really a 7a – 4:30 job)
and while some businesses are experiencing a downturn – the
company I work for is NOT.   Recycling is a BOOM
right now (so um, ya, go buy that new computer but remember
to recycle responsibly  =)
It’s insanely BUSY right now – and SUMMER is suppose to be
a slow down in that industry, lol.
I think we can say for the MLM business as well?  Folks ARE looking
to diversify their incomes.  They are looking for a Plan B, and HECK,
some are looking for a Plan C or D as WELL.
Just encourage you to KEEP making connections.  Build relationships.
That person on a forum that you connect with about a recipe swap
(and learns to know you and trust) just MAY become a business
partner at some time!   We are learning from the best to
BUILD RELATIONSHIPS.  You may see immediate responses.
It may take a while.
BUT, as WE have been trained and the words by now should
be ingrained in our brains, embedded on our foreheads, AND
repetitive with our actions….
consistency
Consistency
CONSISTENCY
Just like when baking a cake, or making brownies or a cheesecake
Mixed to the correct consistency it’s GREAT.
Don’t do it right and you can have lumps and bubbles or it
may be too hard.
If  you don’t know about a consistency plan, watch about it!
SO, GO mix it up!
If you want a revolution the only solution evolve
This crazily addictive song by Kevin Quinn is the new Gatorade commercial. The tune is catchy, the words are simple and the message shows several sports moments.
YouTube Preview Image
I don’t even remember the first time I saw it, but it’s one of those commercials now that I do not zip past with the DVR. I WATCH it. I listen. And I get a booster shot of motivation.
The entire song is a motivation, positive thinker, “ I CAN Do it” attitude adjuster.
Do you notice how the music quality even evolves – from scratchy LP version to a crisp clear digital version? Look how the sports have evolved!
If you wanna revolution the only solution
evolve gotta evolve
If you wanna revolution the only solution
evolve gotta evolve
if you gettin off track and you wanna get back
it may take a lot of work won’t break your back
If you wanna revolution the only solution
evolve gotta evolve
No matter what they do they cant break your stride
Revolution is a thing that starts inside
throw your hands up cuz ur frisked with pride
hold your head high no need to hide
EVO LVE come on get inside,
come on rock with me.
if you want a revolution the only solution, evolve (gotta evolve)
GOT TO EVOLVE! if you want a revolution, you got to evolve.
OHH BABY! if you wanna a revolution
the only solution, evolve
It doesn’t matter what task at hand or goal you are working on. Whether it be business, personal, health, life –
The result will be measured by your commitment inside YOU.
You are where you are and to move from where you are NOW, you will HAVE to change. You will have to evolve!
It means getting your “game plan”. Envision your Dream. Set your Goals to achieve that Dream. Create your Action Plan to reach those Goals. And then work it. Every day. There is not a professional sports figure that will tell you that to achieve the goal, you can work it only sporadically. It takes every day commitment.
if you gettin off track and you wanna get back
it may take a lot of work won’t break your back
So, EVOLVE OHH BABY!
Jumping over the what to blog about hurdle
HELP! What do I blog about?
You decided you wanted to blog – maybe for business, maybe as a hobby, maybe a little bit of both.
But, now you are stuck and wondering about content – WHAT do I blog about?
Blogging regularly = ideas. The more you blog, the more topics and ideas will come to you. You will start looking at actions, daily life, and events and say to yourself “I can BLOG about THAT!”
Reading other blogs by friends, peers and mentors will also be a good source for content. Talk about what others are talking about, in your own words.
SO, what do you write about if you think you have run out of content or maybe you are experiencing a momentary brain freeze (ice cream not included)
You will get a LONG list tomorrow!!
How to shorten your blog post with the More Tag
Have you ever seen those blog posts where all you see are a few sentences, and then you will see  “read more here”. You click and magically the rest of the post appears.
How do they do that?
Well, if you do your blogging with WordPress here is how you can make that magic happen on your blog.
  1. Log into your WordPress account.
  2. New post.
  3. Type your blog / article posting.
  4. At the point in your blog where you would like to split, and have the remainder of your article appear only when someone click it, insert the “More Tag”.   It’s that button on your WordPress tool bar that looks like a dash running in between two pages  (next to your Links buttons).
Presto!  Now your LONG article has been abbreviated until they press the link that is automatically inserted.
You may ask why should I do this?   Well, when you have a website you only want folks to have to click two times down to see some of the content of your website.  If you have two VERY long articles, folks won’t get to see all the other great articles and content you have.  You want a first time visitor to see all the great content you have so shortening some of your long articles with the “More Tag” allows that!
Happy Blogging!
Your Benefit Statement
You can always find quality suggestions and training over at Bob Burg’s website.   And this morning is no different.  His latest posting – Your Benefit Statement is a prime example.
Once we take our eyes of “I” and focus on the “you” of helping others, our “work” at building a business becomes correctly focused.
Here is something Bob said, “Remember, every single year millions of 1/4 inch drill bits are sold, yet no one actually wants a 1/4 inch drill bit. What they want is … a 1/4 inch hole.
People buy benefits, not features. Yet, these benefits must be communicated gently and non-threateningly, and at the proper time and place in order to be effective.”
To learn more, first read Your Benefit Statement Part One, and then continue with Part Two.
I hope you enjoy!
Find the Right Prospects
Are you tired of the old school network marketing techniques? You know -  the 3 foot rule, hanging flyers, bugging your family and friends, and holding hotel meetings, approaching every waiter, cornering the guy in the elevator…
I know that when I first joined my first network marketing company, I was told to use these same techniques.  I was told to make a list of 100 people that I knew and basically call every one of them to ask and see if they would be interested in making some extra money.  And when I was done, call them again, and then come up with another 100 friends.  By the third time around, I was a member of the NFL (No Friends Left – Thanks Natasha for that cute acrostic).
