I loved those words as a little girl.

It meant a good story about a princess and a prince and the wonderful words at the end “and they lived happily ever after.”

I continued my love for reading and expanded from the “princess” fairy tales, to the fantasy books about the battle of good vs. evil. “The Hobbit” by Tolkein was one of my first followed by books by C.S. Lewis.

Even today I’m easily inspired by a good fictional, fantasy book about the power and battle of good and evil.

My website is all about the battle against good and evil.

I know you’ve seen the websites out there. The ones with flashy, glitzy flashing ads that look like a drive down the strip in Vegas. And while you sit staring at the website through your sunglasses you think to yourself , “What is this website really about? Where is the real content?”

And then you find websites full of good content. Whether it be online business building tips with Natasha or health tips with Helen. You visit their site, and you KNOW what the website is about with the immediate content on the front page. And you have a glimps into what the person is about before reading their “about me” page.

My goal is to be the good story on the internet. “Once upon a time there was a lady in Texas that gave encouraging nuggets that helped others.” Or the nudge they needed to begin tilting the world into their favor. Maybe it was the final push to get an online website going. Or the encouragement to reach just a little further for a dream. Or the enlightenment to face and think about dreaming in the first place.

And when the final chapter is written…”and they lived happily every after.”

A little piece of wisdom goes a long way.

” Do or Do Not , There is no try”. That was quote by Yoda, a short of stature character in the movie Star Wars

Did you know that movie was suppose to be a failure? Universal didn’t want the movie because they thought it was silly. The other studios passed on it as well until 20th Century Fox decided to take a gamble. It was a good gamble, wouldn’t you say?

I read an article by Randy Gage and he pointed out that to say you will “try” something is only setting you up for failure. You’ve already allowed yourself to quit and not finish. By deciding you WILL “DO” something you are deciding to finish.

I have a piece of what I call “Texas Wisdom” and it was something my daddy taught me. He and mom were led to start a church in our town. They bought the property that had an old home, old country church and property. There were going to be new challenges for the family. It was old. It was going to need repairs. I didn’t have any brothers or sisters. So along the way he (with me by his side) learned how to do plumbing, electrical work, roofing, repair lawn mowers and tractors, car repairs, house building (and demolition).

Daddy always (and still does say it) said, “There is no Can’t”. He then explained. “Can’t means either “I don’t know how” or “I don’t want to do it”. “So if you don’t know how, go learn it. And if you don’t want to do it, then take responsibility for the decision.”

So we did. We learned. We made mistakes. We fixed the mistakes. And we did again. But we never said “I Can’t”. God was good! And he still is! We still live on the property. The church is still going! And now he is able to coach my husband and I as we make some of the repairs.

Two small phrases.
Two huge impacts on YOUR world!

Have you heard of SpeedDating?

The first time I saw it was an episode of “Sex in the City”
I’m probably one of the few in the world that only ever saw a couple episodes of the show, but this one captured my interest.

SpeedDating (the spelling as one word is a trademarked word!) actually originated by Rabbi Yaacov Deyoto offer the local singles of the Jewish faith in Beverly Hills a way to meet a large number of new people. It’s very organized, with tables and a set time for folks to visit. Then the timer dings and they move to the next person. At the end of the designated time frame, a person can decide which “speeddaters” they want to get to know better later.

I decided to SpeedDate my life!

Some people call it “branding yourself” or building your “ME” business. Have you heard of the concept? Probably so if you have a website / blog ? You have your website and it allows people to get to know the real “you”! You build a trust with them over the printed word or video blogs. It’s part of the marketing funnel mastery.

I discovered very quickly that I have to stay focused because I can get lost very quickly pointing and clicking and reading lots of blogs and websites. Then at the end of the hour, I had done some great reading and maybe taken some notes but in the end, I hadn’t really connected with anyone.

So I decided to SpeedDate every day.

The plan is simple:

Visit other blogs or forums every day. 4 to be exact.

Read and provide valid and insightful comments on each of those 4.

3 times a week, choose one of those blogs or forums and do a little blurb of my own, and link back to that person’s website.

In about 20 minutes a day, I can “meet” other folks, learn along the way, glean ideas for one of my own blogs later. I keep my notebook handy to jot down ideas (no plagiarizing!) I TRULY didn’t expect this to work.

What do I have to show for it?

I have a notebook of blog ideas to research further.

I stumbled upon one website that was having a contest and entered with a blog of my own, and WON a one hour business coaching call.

I connected with one website several times and we “connected” over printed word and contact. We became Facebook friends and I’ll be doing a guest blog on her new website.

I love and appreciate the connections I’ve made along the way! I have truly “met” some folks that I KNOW I would otherwise not have met. I’ve learned valuable lessons. My opportunities have broadened. My horizons are brighter. I have more confidence.

Yup, Rabbi Yaacov Deyo had a good idea!

As a young adolescent, I had the blessing of living with my parents on what I sometimes called “a little house in the prairie” (we lived in a small house in Grand Prairie, TX). Yes, we were in a city, but our street was on the outer most parts of the city and the “country” was around me . There were no houses next to us but rather open fields and woods and lots of critters. One summer, our dog was on the patio and making lots of noise barking. I went to the glass and saw that the dog was barking at a turtle that had found the dog’s food bowl to be a nice place for a snack. This was a hot dry summer and I suppose the turtle had journeyed our way and stumbled upon a meal. The turtle continued to make daily visits. I took a bottle of fingernail polish and made a marking on his back to ensure it was the same turtle visiting us. It was! That turtle could be a quick mover and it seemed as though that if we walked away from the glass, he would scittle away very quickly. Who ever said turtles moved slow really hasn’t observed them . Or, maybe just Texas turtles are quick?

When dinner was over, the turtle would begin making his journey back to the woods and the nearby watering hole. When turtles travel their favorite direction is straight. They don’t make many twists and turns unless the forward direction has an obstacle too large for them to mount. They will take the slightest diversion and then get right back on their forward direction.

Also, if we got too close trying to watch turtle, he would do the classic turtle action – pull in the head and legs and wait…and wait…and wait..until he could sense we “the enemy” were gone and he could safely make his journey again.

A few lessons I’ve applied from turtle, through the years are:

When the going get’s tough, the tough find another way. That summer, turtle had to find another way to find sustenance. Then, once he found what he needed (food and water at our patio) he continued to feed upon our supply.

Don’t give up. He had to make a LONG journey (at least for a turtle) from the watering hole, where I assumed he was originally from. But, he knew where he could find food and he made that journey daily. He didn’t give up on that original journey to find food, and his journey and searching paid off for him. He found a house that SPOILS pets and critters!

It’s ok to Tuck and NOT run. Some wildlife, like rabbits and squirrels will run and dart when they get into trouble and “the enemy” is close. That can sometimes lead to their demise. Instead, turtle just tucked and rode out his “storm” until “the enemy” was no longer around.

SO, you want to know something about health? or business building? or writing technique for a blog? Search. Find. Read.
Don’t give up!
There will be storms that arrive and seem to keep you from our dreams and goals. Just ride out the storm (self doubt, lack of knowledge) and stay your course with slow and sure steps every day!

I hope you have a Turtle day!
Tilt the world in your favor!

I read this following chart a while back in a book called

He wrote it to help people in training others and to point out

Thousands of Network Marketing distributors are
building successful part-time business in their
“spare time.”

But Spare Time can be used for other things as a well!

Maybe you are someone that has said,
“I can’t start a hobby, I don’t have time”….
or…
“I can’t exercise and get fit, I don’t have time”
or…
“I can’t give back to the community or do any sort of
volunteer work, I don’t have time”

There are 168 hours in every single week. Where
does the time go? Let’s take a good long look:

Activity / Time Spent / Time Remaining in the week

Sleep
8 hours a day / 56 hours a week / 112 hours remaining.

Full time job
8 hours a day / 40 hours a week / 72 hours remaining.

Commuting
2 hours a day / 10 hours a week / 62 hours remaining.

Eating
2 hours a day / 14 hours a week / 48 hours remaining.

Family & Entertainment
I just don’t have the time,” look at the chart.

I was reading through old blog posts and found this one about

New Year Resolutions. Frankly, it’s sort of fulfilling to read

a “resolution” and be able to say to yourself – I DID IT!

And the good thing is, there is still time in the year to

“evolve” more!

Enjoy!

~~~~~~~~~
I read an email today about “resolutions”.  It pretty much
mirrored my own belief now that resolutions just don’t produce
results.  They are so mechanical.  A list.  At one point earlier in the
month I even decided to not make “resolutions” but to call them
“promises” to myself.
However, that was before I read a short email about not so
much as a “resolution” as an Evolution!
You see, as we get closer to the year 2010 (3 days), most of us
think about about new year ‘resolutions’…
But, let’s not think about a ‘resolution’ as much as
it is about ‘evolution’!
A resolution is a mechanical commitment you’ve
got to keep, whereas evolution is an emotional
commitment that keeps you!
For example, I am not interested in a resolution
to lose X pounds in 2010 (yikes), as much as I
am interested in evolving into a person of greater
respect for my body…
I am not interested in reading X number of self
development books in 2010 so much as
evolving into a person who is more confident,
better equipped to help others see their value,
and friendlier.
So, let’s rethink our “resolutions” and “promises”
to ourselves.
What’s on your 2010 EVOLUTION list?
I received this as one of those forwards of a forwards of a forward Emails.  And usually, I delete those emails without even reading them.
BUT, since it’s the beginning of 2010, this one caught my eye.  And it’s too good not to share!  I hope you enjoy!
HANDBOOK 2010
Health:
1.       Drink plenty of water.
2.       Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar.
3.       Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants..
4.       Live with the 3 E’s — Energy, Enthusiasm and Empathy
5.       Make time to pray.
6.       Play more games
7.       Read more books than you did in 2009 .
8.       Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day
9.       Sleep for 7 hours.
10.    Take a 10-30 minutes walk daily. And while you walk, smile.
Personality:
11.    Don’t compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
12.    Don’t have negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.
13.    Don’t over do. Keep your limits.
14.    Don’t take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
15.    Don’t waste your precious energy on gossip.
16.    Dream more while you are awake
17.    Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need..
18.    Forget issues of the past. Don’t remind your partner with His/her mistakes of the past. That will ruin your present happiness.
19.    Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. Don’t hate others.
20.    Make peace with your past so it won’t spoil the present.
21.    No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
22.    Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn.  Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.
23.    Smile and laugh more.
24.    You don’t have to win every argument. Agree to disagree…
Society:
25.    Call your family often.
26.    Each day give something good to others.
27.    Forgive everyone for everything..
28.    Spend time w/ people over the age of 70 & under the age of  6.
29.    Try to make at least three people smile each day.
30.    What other people think of you is none of your business.
31.    Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch.
Life:
32.    Do the right thing!
33.    Get rid of anything that isn’t useful, beautiful or joyful.
34.    GOD heals everything.
35.    However good or bad a situation is, it will change..
36.    No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
37.    The best is yet to come..
38.    When you awake alive in the morning, thank GOD for it.
39.    Your Inner most is always happy. So, be happy.
Last but not the least:
40.    Please Forward this to everyone you care about, I just did.
Prov 21:5  Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty.
I’m not perfect. And I don’t know it all.  Ok, GOOD, now you know I’m HUMAN like you!
I’m not perfect (YET) on using Internet Marketing  to help me generate possible leads for my friendships (which MAY lead to some business building).
I KNOW there are sorts of avenues for Social Media.  I’ve read various articles, downloaded eBooks, read blogs, watched videos -
I’m a recent student of Magnetic Sponsoring by Mike Dillard. (Ya, I know..I’m a day late and a dollar short <smile>)
I was recently reading an article by Mirna Bard, 15 Categories of Social Media
And she has what I think you would call a “spider” showing ALL the Social Media avenues.
wow.  No, wait…WOW.
NOW, I DO know that I have only started to scratch the surface – I’m only at the tip of the iceberg!   AND THAT is assuring.  Because that lets me know I have much more success on the way!
Check it out – What do you think?
As many of YOU as well, I work a 9-5 job (which is really a 7a – 4:30 job)
and while some businesses are experiencing a downturn – the
company I work for is NOT.   Recycling is a BOOM
right now (so um, ya, go buy that new computer but remember
to recycle responsibly  =)
It’s insanely BUSY right now – and SUMMER is suppose to be
a slow down in that industry, lol.
I think we can say for the MLM business as well?  Folks ARE looking
to diversify their incomes.  They are looking for a Plan B, and HECK,
some are looking for a Plan C or D as WELL.
Just encourage you to KEEP making connections.  Build relationships.
That person on a forum that you connect with about a recipe swap
(and learns to know you and trust) just MAY become a business
partner at some time!   We are learning from the best to
BUILD RELATIONSHIPS.  You may see immediate responses.
It may take a while.
BUT, as WE have been trained and the words by now should
be ingrained in our brains, embedded on our foreheads, AND
repetitive with our actions….
consistency
Consistency
CONSISTENCY
Just like when baking a cake, or making brownies or a cheesecake
Mixed to the correct consistency it’s GREAT.
Don’t do it right and you can have lumps and bubbles or it
may be too hard.
If  you don’t know about a consistency plan, watch about it!
Click here to view the embedded video.
SO, GO mix it up!
