Empty Nest Daily Habits

The foundation to any successful endeavor is consistent actions. Rebuilding and redesigning your Empty Nest should be done with some thought to your new nest, your new foundation.

Rebuilding your empty nest

Mind you, this philosophical thought came to me while I was snapping beans.  In case you don’t know gardening lingo, snapping beans is what you do with the string beans you’ve picked off the vine to prepare them for cooking.

If you are a lucky farmer you have a big “mess” of them.  More farming lingo.  Mess is GOOD because a “mess” is your harvest.

Anyway, I was in the kitchen doing the methodical job of snapping beans.  It was a huge “mess’ of them and I wanted to get them all done.  So, I picked up a bean pod, snapped the end and then snapped off the other end then plopped it into the “snapped bean” bowl. It was a job of repetition for about an hour. Over and Over again.  No change. snap, snap, plop. snap snap plop.

Think about it.  Whether it’s in the kitchen, your business, your marriage, it’s the actions of consistency that help you create success.

Once in a while actions don’t build a strong foundation. Or long term success. But consistent actions do.

Warning!   Lack of growth in your life will ultimately lead to frustrations.  And frustrations usually leads to finger pointing and the blame game.

I encourage you to decide and commit to a plan of action for the new year.  Incorporate some daily consistent daily actions into your plan.

Empty Nest Action Plan

A simple empty nest growth action plan can start with 3 simple things:

  1. Review your life goals daily (for about 10 to 15 minutes)
  2. Read 10 pages from a good self-development book (an area or skill you want to improve)
  3. Listen to 30 minutes of uplifting music, good news

And most of all  HAVE FUN!
