I love the thought and fact that gratitude is contagious.

Another quote in the website is “Just one dose of gratitude and your dance partners, “Ms. Worry Wart” and “Mr. What If”, fade into wimpy wall flowers. (Good riddance – they are the worst dance partners you could pick on the planet to ask to polka.)

I’ve read that our brain’s capacity for knowledge is more powerful than a computer.

How can that be? I’m not sure, but it made me think about the fact that my brain needs
virus protection just as much as my trusty Dell laptop! But, if you go walk the aisle of
local software shop you aren’t going to find a piece of software to install in
your noggin!

As a busy working woman trying to build a Network Marketing business, you have to work daily at your own virus protection for your brain.

#1. Avoid the negative self talk
Just about as soon as you have a good thought pop into your head, if you aren’t careful the negative self talk will start creeping in. At first you are really excited by the prospect of your new MLM business, but immediately your mind may start telling you that it’s going to be too hard, or you are going to have to work on this even after you put in a long day at work, or worse, you ARE going to have to network and talk to people, and you just don’t see how you will fit that in. Pretty soon, you probably have yourself all talked out of the FUN you were going to have.

Stop the mind chatter. DO. Quit talking so much to yourself in such a negative way.

#2 Open yourself to new experiences
Since we are only here on earth for about 80 years, on the average, why not try some new things? Our brain can get stuck in a rut of the daily mundane that I’m convinced it deadens our brain cells. Yes, we all have our comfort zones that are, well, comforting. They give us stability and protection. However, comfort zones also stop us from learning and growing as an individual. And when we stop learning and growing we can liken ourselves to the ancient p486 computer stuck in the back of the closet that won’t operate on any of the new computer programs.

Think about it, what our world be like without folks that were willing to step outside into new experiences like Walt Disney and Henry Ford?

Think of something new you have been wanting try with your business, and do it. Maybe it’s starting a blog, or meeting 3 new people, or exercising.

Stepping out of the comfort zone will give fuel to your brain cells.

And as a busy woman we all know we need extra fuel!

Yoda was a teacher.
He had a famous line. “Do, or do not. There is no try.” -Yoda

So you have your home business. It doesn’t matter what you are going to do.
The key word is DO. Or Do not.

Don’t just say you will “TRY”.
Try is another of the danger words!

Better to get out there and DO, and maybe fail….
Than to say “try” because TRY is usually a procrastination word that leads to not DOING anything!

Remember!
DO!

I personally think they are looking at it’s plan and the effects completely wrong.

You see, I purchased Magnetic Sponsoring too – just like many of you have, or thought about doing. I was tired of chasing everyone within 3 feet of me. I was tired of flushing money down the tubes by purchasing leads that went no where. I didn’t want to spend another family holiday ‘hawk-eyeing” and listening for any lead in that I could get into a conversation in order to pitch my MLM.

I needed a new way.

So I filled out the famous splash page for Magnetic Sponsoring. I got the pdf download and the series of videos. I started slowly applying its principles.

I put myself out there by creating articles, reading other’s articles and giving value added comments. Something started happening that I didn’t expect. Something I am calling Magnetic Relationships.

I didn’t necessarily have bucket loads of leads funneling into my pipeline. But I started connecting with people I would not have other wise met online. And VALUE started adding to MY life. I started learning some new concepts (and applying). I started to grow as a leader and as a person.

I started winning!

No! Seriously! I started winning!

I entered Natasha’s challenge to post an article about “my theme song” and won a coaching session with her.

I connected with Laura over at Flying Pigs Communications and got to have fun when she launched her new forum. Later, because of that relationship, she gave me to a sponsorship to Dr. Shannon Reece’s pilot of the Refresh-her Challenge – where I really started learning some things about myself and about what was holding me back from reaching towards some of my goals. And, because of my participation in her challenge, I ended up winning a Starbucks gift card.

I stepped out and entered a contest for a Facebook friend to help devise a name for her little mascot on her website, and now Blossom the Bee has a name over at the Golden Rule Virtual Assistant and I won a Barnes & Noble gift card.

I also had someone connect with me because of my connection in Better Networker and the fact that my son is an Aggie. And while I wasn’t able to personally help out Ben, I was able to connect him back to Natasha and her husband Rich Hazlett who I knew could assist him.

For me personally, at this time in my life, have those Magnetic Relationships develop far outweigh any leads in a funnel. I gained relationships and connections across the miles, which are far more precious than leads, silver or gold!

I find it interesting how our journey progresses. While we may not understand the threads and knots on the underside of the tapestry there is a beautiful picture being created on the other side! We just need to have patience and allow the Creator to finish the masterpiece.

I’ve learned some recent lessons during the past few weeks about the Power of Social Media as a source for Networking.   I’ll talk about those later.  But I wanted to give a shout out to one of my Facebook Friends, The Golden Rule Virtual Assistant. The website and services are there to make YOUR life easier while you are building your Direct Marketing Business.

One of the fun things I participated in during my Social Media Networking with The Golden Rule was entering a contest to name the mascot.

And I won!  The name of Blossom was chosen and I feel so blessed to help this fellow networker, leader, and business owner.  And it was FUN!!

I grew up in a town that was famous for the gangsters, Bonnie & Clyde. In fact, Grand Prairie was a little city where the Dallas TX Sheriff and his deputies wanted to try to trap them. That plan failed and they continued to do their dirty deeds for almost a year longer.

The little hide-away street where I live now had an old timer living on it. And he told a story:

“You see, a long time ago this street use to be a side street to the main farm and market road that led out of Dallas. Bonnie and Clyde would never drive on the main road. Clyde must have known all the back roads. So would drive down our little curvy road, stop at the community well to fill up their car and canteens, and drove on out of the Dallas area. We all knew who they were. When then drove down the road, no one looked up. We just kept our heads down and never made eye contact. We figured the quicker they got off our road the better we would be. And the more alive”.

It’s true that Clyde knew the back roads. While the crow may fly straight from A to B to Clyde drove in and around and out to get to B. There may have been a faster route, but he took the longer and stayed alive. ( You can read about their some of their crazy travels at the Bonnie & Clyde History Blog )

So, what do Bonnie and Clyde have to do with your Network Marketing Business?

Some folks approach their business with no clear map of where they are and where they want to go nor how they want to get there. Sure, they may eventually get there. But, for the faster route to success, it takes planning.

I encourage you to make a daily list of things you need to do every day to grow yourself and to grow your business. Your Daily Half Dozen, One Dozen or Two Dozen items should be listed. Chart your plan and follow it every day. Check off the days you do them. At the end of the month, when you review your growth you will see and know how you got there. Or heavens forbid, you aren’t where you want to be you can visually see WHY you didn’t get there!

It doesn’t have to be a fancy shmancy spreadsheet (although that’s easier for summing totals) but just grab
a paper and draw some lines….
1. Month
2. Mon – Sun across the top
3. Your Daily Actions down the side.
4. How many you do in each day slot.
5. Set goals for the week.
6. Add up your accomplishments at the end of the week.
7. Make adjustments accordingly!

It’s that easy! And your business will thank you later!
