I was low.
No, I was out.
My energy was gone. Zapped. Zero. Nada.
Daily.
I had resolved myself that since I was over 40, I must be doomed to feel that way forever. My doctor kept saying for two years - “Well, you are getting older. You aren’t going to feel like you are 35″. And I accepted his answer.
At age 43 it was FINALLY determined with a blood test that I had a hypothyroid (sheesh, why did it take them so long?). While 2 years of medication has resulted in some change, it was the complete change I wanted, or needed. I was 45 going on 60.
I started researching about supplements for energy. In the mean time, I started drinking all the different energy drinks at the local corner store. Some tasted like a can full of sugar, some resulted in shaky hands and a fluttering heart which was not a good feeling at all!
Vitamin B12 shots were considered to increase energy. But injections can be expensive.
During my search for energy, I also learned that B12 is also essential for the metabolism of food, anti-inflammatory components, digestion, bone formation, organ regulation, sleep – the list is endless.
- Cyanocobalamin: A cheaper, man-made form most commonly used as an additive and in supplements.
- Methylcobalamin: A pharmaceutical grade that is the superior form of B12 and nets better results in less dosage.
In March I found out about a new product (yea, I thought the same thing – SURE sure, ANOTHER new potion or juice).
I decided to number a list of 1 – 30. At the end of each day, I was going to really evaluate myself and think about if I was noticing a change or difference in my energy. I’ll be honest. I was skeptical. I very, very skeptical.
At the end of 30 days, I had something written on each day. Things like: whites of eyes whiter, slept great, woke up feeling rested, woke up 1 hour earlier than normal, mid morning munchies gone, no 2pm downer, craving for coffee and chocolate gone, clarity of mind, it’s 10pm and I would normally be exhausted-but instead I’m comfortable tired.
After 30 days, hubby was taking notice. So were my parents.
It’s hard to believe that a nutritional alternative to increased energy can be so easy as ripping open a little packet, pouring it in water and drinking it daily. Believe it or not, it’s that easy folks!

This is such a great resource that you are providing and you give it away for free. I enjoy seeing websites that understand the value of providing a prime resource for free. I truly loved reading your post. Thanks!
Thank you so much for your kind words. A whole new world of nutrition is opening up, and it is important that everyone know – as YOU well know!
Hi, how many different vitamins and Herbal supplements can I take at a time? I want to start taking different vitamins and herbs for different things that bother me like mood swings, hormones, headaches, irregular cycle, ect. But everyone prescribes something different to take. Can I take everything that they prescribe at once? People have said to take st. johns wort, 5htp, b50 complex, magnesium, b2, b6 What do you think?
Hi Carmina – good job on wanting to take your health to the next level by taking supplements. It can be a very confusing journey because you are correct – everyone has a supplement cure for every ailment. I personally found my best result when I took the 3 top vitamins needed (as suggested by reading various nutritionists). Vitamin B’s, Vitamin D, and anti-oxidants. Over a period of time, these three can begin mending so many other areas. I have found recent relief in areas you are having trouble with. So just stay on your road – as long as you keep searching you will find!
