Some say opportunity only knocks once. Seems as though most folks want it to come running in like a crazed maniac waving it's arms and screaming at you. Probably won't happen that way - you are going to have to listen with your heart...

Health Care versus Disease Care

I couldn’t wait to start reading my new book, “Breakthrough – 8 Steps to Wellness” by Suzanne Somers.
In fact, I got it in the mail and started reading while hubby was driving! And I started turning down pages and highlighting. I can see already that this book is going to be full of interesting and helpful information.

Ms. Somers makes a statement early in the book. “At present in our country we do not practice “health care”. We think we do, but in reality we practice “disease care” meaning we go to the doctor when we are already in a diseased state.

Breakthrough – 8 steps to wellness is all about her research into leading breakthrough technology and practices. Forward thinking that can help you truly CARE for your health.

The chapters are not only facts, but actual conversations with leading doctors.

The 8 Chapters will be:
1. Get BHRT
2. Avoid Chemicals and Detoxify Your Body
3. Take Nutrition Seriously
4. Create a Healthy GI Tract
5. Avoid Pharmaceuticals unless absolutely necessary
6. Supplement your diet
7. Exercise regularly
8. Get Proper Sleep

Breakthrough medicine is about good nutrition, avoiding chemicals, understanding stress, good sleep – and more!

As Helen Wenley stated over on her Healthy Aging Blog, Dental Care is an important step as well. I can attest to this one first hand….
My uncle had not visited the dentist in YEAR – I mean YEEEEEARS. He was in poor health, had some bad teeth, debilitating knee pain that stopped him from working, was depressed and suffered from severe anxiety attacks. His teeth got to hurting him SOOO bad that he was finally convinced to go see the dentist. It took MUCH coaxing from the family – but he finally went. Long story short – he ended up having to have all the decayed teeth pulled. By about 2 weeks, Uncle was a new man. He had joy, no more anxiety, no more bad knees, no more depression. He became a new man – one that I had not seen in over 20 years!

My goals is to fight Anti- Aging, or as Helen so eloquently states – increase HEALTHY AGING!
I want to live a long and healthy life and to inspire others. Do you have any long-term health plans? Have you started taking the steps?

  • Thank you for this lovely story, even though it took quite a long time to finish reading. (English is not my mother tongue) May I ask where you get your sources from? Many thanks!

Hi Sammy. Thanks for stopping by. I am reading the book Breakthrough, by Suzanne Somers.

  • Hi Kim,
I have just found this post of yours and I enjoyed reading it. It is so great to hear of someone else who is on the same path. Thanks heaps for mentioning my blog. And glad to read that your Uncle got his teeth sorted – so many do not understand that our oral health is connected to our body health!
Wishing you a long, healthy and fulfilling life,
    Best wishes,
    Helen

  • Hello Kim. Good oral health care is one basic step to wellness that so many people overlook. It can make such a big difference as your Uncle can now testify! I have created a blog with helpful advice for people who are interested in having healthy teeth and gums for life.
